Job Summary
Are you someone who loves bringing structure to complex work building strong relationships and helping teams operate smoothly behind the scenes As the Associate Manager Regional Operations youll play a key role in supporting school and regional leaders across New York by driving projects managing communications and ensuring important operational work moves forward effectively.
In this role youll partner closely with regional leadership to coordinate initiatives improve systems and processes and support meaningful experiences for staff and leaders. Your work will help schools stay focused on delivering an excellent educational experience for students and families across Uncommon Schools.
Responsibilities
Regional Project & Operations Management
- Lead and manage regional projects and operational initiatives that support school and regional leadership
- Coordinate major events and retreats including logistics communication and follow through
- Support the implementation and improvement of regional systems processes and collaboration tools
- Manage timelines action items and deliverables to ensure projects stay on track and aligned to priorities
Meeting & Leadership Support
- Plan and coordinate recurring regional leadership meetings and operational touchpoints
- Prepare materials agendas notes and follow up communication for leadership meetings
- Partner with leaders across teams to ensure meetings are well organized productive and actionable
- Track decisions and next steps while helping maintain accountability across stakeholders
Communication & Coordination
- Draft and edit emails presentations and other written communications on behalf of regional leaders
- Coordinate scheduling travel and meeting logistics for senior operational leaders
- Serve as a reliable point of coordination across teams ensuring information is clear and shared effectively
- Support expense management and additional administrative processes as needed
Team Collaboration & Support
- Coach and support junior staff members who provide operational or administrative support
- Build strong working relationships with school based and regional teams
- Contribute to special projects and operational priorities that strengthen regional effectiveness and collaboration
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required
- 3 to 6 years of professional experience in operations project management nonprofit administration communications school operations or related fields
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across teams and levels
- Strong judgment and follow-through when managing projects logistics and operational processes
- Ability to travel to Uncommons home office and other regions approximately eight times per year
- Ability to perform moderate physical activity including standing or walking for extended periods setting up materials or equipment and carrying objects up to 40 pounds when supporting events or meetings
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting senior leaders or coordinating cross-functional initiatives
- Experience managing projects events meetings or operational workflows with multiple stakeholders
- Experience working in schools education organizations or mission-driven nonprofit environments

Compensation:
The full compensation range for this role is $82500-$97000. Typically new hires who fully meet all qualifications listed in the job description will start at $87300. Starting compensation below this reflects candidates with less experience or qualifications. Offers near the top end of the range are reserved for candidates who significantly exceed the qualifications bringing extensive experience and specialized expertise beyond what is listed.
Compensation determinations consider relevant professional experience and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Additionally because we value internal growth and tenure current staff members are not subject to salary caps within this range.
Work Environment:
Uncommon Schools is an in-person organization. Team members working in this role are expected to work in person at least three days each week.
