Supervisor – Air, Critical Logistics Services
Job Summary
Scope of Position
The employee will ensure timely and accurate movement of all freight and information while providing an exceptional customer service within CLS department and will constantly communicate with members of other Expeditors offices while also offering exceptional support and assistance to our Customer Service departments.
Assist Manager with all aspects of the operation while ensuring the proper and timely movement of freight while providing an exceptional Customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
People:
- Identify develop the Team Members
- Review and conduct staff appraisals timely and at a minimum once per year per employee.
- Ensure all staff and positions have job descriptions clear expectations and are working with structured development plans.
- Ensure and assist supervisors and key staff with goal setting and monitoring.
- Conduct regular interviews with potential new personnel.
- Plan for and hold effective weekly department meetings with team.
- Review department goals and business plan periodically with staff to ensure by-in and accountability.
- Meet company standards of 52 hours training per year including as needed management/leadership training
Operations:
- Create and maintain an effective department organization chart which is designed for flexibility and growth
- Prepare execute monitor and update CLS shipments in the MAIR Region
- Execute bookings on behalf of the customer using the appropriate booking tools
- Execute routing of the shipment and update the operational system as needed
- Arrange pickup of the freight including communication with the service provider ensuring all information labels and documents are provided timely and in an accurate manner
- Prepare and edit transport documents and ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system
- Prepare and submit export customs documents/declarations using Customs systems Complete DG check list of all DG files prior delivery to the airline

- Daily contact with airlines (booking) and trucking companies (for all pickup request)
- Ensure the system reports including but not limited to the below list are utilized at the level of frequency mentioned in order to effectively manage operations:
- CLS & Air Import Dashboard
- CLS SHIPMENTS LOGGED ELECTRONICALLY SLE Report (Daily)
- 24 x 7 Operational Coverage for CLS shipments for MAIR
- Working with Network offices Service Providers for shipment execution clearance delivery
- Timely & Accurate Invoicing
- TIMING / CYCLE TIME Report (monthly to measure key event timings or as needed by customers)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors (airlines Customs Brokers trucking companies and others)
- Work to be our vendors lowest cost customer promoting shipper built units by origins and other creative local market solutions to lower overall cost for both parties.
- Evaluate vendors at defined intervals per company policy focusing on areas of possible improvement with corrective action plans where needed.
Regularly read and review business and trade journals and attend industry events to further market and industry knowledge.
Customer
- Pro-Actively service the Customers for their CLS requirements
- Support Network offices for ensuring Customers get the desired service levels and timely deliveries
- Ensure Quality Management Reviews and scorecards (QMRs) are completed with your CLS customers.
- Pro-actively provide pricing alternatives routing solutions and technical assistance to clients through internal sales both regional and global.
- Respond to requests for proposal quotation or information timely and with market competitive pricing matching the scope of service required by the customer.
- Take an active role in the transition of new business/ updates to existing business.
Finance:
- Assist Manager with preparation of annual department budget.
- Ensuring Cost allocation is done within MAIR for the CLS Activities
- Ensure all costs are shared for Timely & Accurate billings based on the scope of work
- Ensure company credit procedures are followed and utilized effectively.
- Update Air Import teams on Services rendered and timely invoicing to Customers
- Support with an intercompany accounting discrepancies via AJAX report.
- Ensure any contracts vendor customer or other are reviewed in accordance to company contract policies prior to being signed.

- Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and in being the role model of integrity and pride for all employees.
- Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.
- Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings.

Qualifications :
- Education to degree level or business experience equivalent
- 5 years of industry specific qualification (country specific).
- Proven supervisory attitude
- Good market and product knowledge
- Effective interpersonal skills including proven abilities to listen comprehend effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Good computer skills (Excel Word)
- Graduate of IATA/FIATA introductiıonary course (preferred)
