Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Bariatric Surgery Travel Assignment
Location: Hackensack New Jersey
Contract Duration: 35 Weeks (High possibility of extension or permanent placement)

- Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Weekly
- Shift Type: Day Shift
- Schedule: MondayFriday
- Hours: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC isseeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical and administrative functions within a busy Bariatric Surgery outpatient department in Hackensack New Jersey.
The ideal candidate will have strong outpatient clinical experience excellent patient communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume healthcare environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms supplies and instruments for patient visits
- Take and document patient vital signs accurately in medical records
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures
- Obtain patient history and perform medication reconciliation
- Perform EKGs PFTs audiometry titmus testing phlebotomy UDS and BAT collections
- Process insurance authorizations and assist with billing and collections
- Schedule appointments admissions and procedures
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation and patient records
- Provide patient education regarding health maintenance and disease prevention
- Ensure proper usage and maintenance of clinical equipment
- Support telephone and in-person patient screening activities
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical or ambulatory setting preferred
- Experience with patient intake vital signs and medical documentation required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Licensure / Certification
- Current AHA BLS Certification required
- CMA or RMA Certification required
Preferred Experience
- Insurance authorization experience preferred
- Medication reconciliation experience preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems preferred
