On behalf of Rohde Nielsen MARPRO Group is looking for a Technical Project Manager for the office in Copenhagen. You will report to the management team of the company.
Rohde Nielsen runs a modern fleet of more than 45 specially built versatile and highly specialized vessels operating globally.
The job
As Technical Project Manager you will be responsible for managing and overseeing newbuilding retrofit and conversion projects from concept through to delivery ensuring that each project is executed in line with technical specifications timelines and budget constraints. A key part of the role involves hands-on engagement with shipyards including a high level of international travel for inspections supervision and ongoing project follow-up.
You will work closely with colleagues in the Marine Projects team while also collaborating across technical and commercial departments to ensure alignment and smooth this capacity you will manage the technical aspects of projects act as the main point of contact towards shipyards and external partners and carry out on-site supervision globally. You will review and approve technical drawings and documentation ensure compliance with project requirements standards and contractual obligations and prepare technical procedures manuals and supporting documentation. You will also provide technical support to internal stakeholders across projects.
The role requires a broad technical overview rather than deep specialization as you will work closely with designers suppliers and classification societies. However it is essential that you can critically assess designs systems and constructions to ensure quality compliance and that the delivered solutions meet expectations.
Professional qualifications
Relevant technical education such as Naval Architect Marine Engineer or similar
Experience of shipyards or marine projects both technically and contractually
Experience with newbuildings retrofits and conversions
Good understanding of ship design systems and construction principles
Proficient in English
Valid permission to work in Europe
Personal characteristics
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound technical decisions
Structured and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent communication skills across technical and commercial stakeholders
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility
Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively internationally
