Position: Manufacturing Operator
Location: Detroit MI 48201
Duration: 3 Months
Job Type: Contract
Work Type: Onsite
Shift: Monday Friday from 11:00 PM 07:30 AM

Summary:

The Manufacturing Operator plays a key role in the production of animal-origin peptones within a manufacturing environment. This position involves handling raw animal tissues operating production equipment and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable detail-oriented and comfortable working in an environment with strong odors and exposure to chemicals.

Responsibilities:

Set up and load materials into vacuum dryers.
Perform routine cleaning sanitization and basic equipment inspections.
Accurately document production activities and equipment checks.
Operate pallet jacks to move raw materials and finished products.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Good Documentation Practices (GDP) batch records and safety guidelines.
Inspect finished products for defects or deviations from specifications.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to maintain efficient production flow.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals and raw animal-origin materials.
Comfortable working in environments with strong odors.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Ability to operate pallet jacks and material handling equipment.
Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
Routine exposure to chemicals and animal-origin raw materials.
Exposure to strong odors associated with manufacturing processes.
Required PPE includes safety glasses steel-toe boots hair nets and beard nets where applicable.
Additional PPE such as Tyvek suits face shields lab coats and protective gloves may be required depending on tasks performed.
