Position: Manufacturing Operator
Location: Detroit MI 48201
Duration: 3 Months

Shift: Monday Friday from 11:00 PM 07:30 AM
Summary:
The Manufacturing Operator plays a key role in the production of animal-origin peptones within a manufacturing environment. This position involves handling raw animal tissues operating production equipment and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable detail-oriented and comfortable working in an environment with strong odors and exposure to chemicals.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and load materials into vacuum dryers.
- Perform routine cleaning sanitization and basic equipment inspections.
- Accurately document production activities and equipment checks.
- Operate pallet jacks to move raw materials and finished products.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Good Documentation Practices (GDP) batch records and safety guidelines.
- Inspect finished products for defects or deviations from specifications.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to maintain efficient production flow.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals and raw animal-origin materials.
- Comfortable working in environments with strong odors.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and material handling equipment.
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Routine exposure to chemicals and animal-origin raw materials.
- Exposure to strong odors associated with manufacturing processes.
- Required PPE includes safety glasses steel-toe boots hair nets and beard nets where applicable.
- Additional PPE such as Tyvek suits face shields lab coats and protective gloves may be required depending on tasks performed.
