Design Engineer III Job Summary
Location: Huntersville NC (Hybrid 2-3 days WFH)
Duration: 5-6 months (183 days) possible extension
US Citizenship Required Bill Rate: $87/hr
Role Overview
As a Design Engineer III you will drive technical excellence by optimizing product designs generating precise technical drawings and supporting project delivery through advanced mechanical analytical and CAE skills. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality engineering solutions supporting manufacturing and delivering robust customer-facing results. You will operate in a collaborative team environment engaging in both on-site and remote work with minimal travel to customer locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply linear-static Finite Element Analysis to optimize product designs
- Generate and review technical drawings with parametric 3D modeling and ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
- Design develop and report on tests (DVP&R)
- Support and resolve customer issues leveraging mechanical CAE and project management expertise
- Prepare technical specifications and present project status to stakeholders
- Develop and document testing methods and procedures
- Investigate alternative design and business opportunities
- Support manufacturing by addressing engineering change requests (ECRs)
- Present technical results to customers and incorporate feedback
- Assist technicians and shop builds; operate basic hand tools
- Maintain high standards in technical writing communication and project organization
