Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance and repair operations for the company’s fleet and transport equipment. The successful candidate will ensure vehicle reliability minimize downtime manage maintenance teams control costs and maintain safety and regulatory compliance across fleet and workshop operations.

Responsibilities

  • Fleet Maintenance Management: Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance for trucks trailers commercial vehicles and transport equipment; ensure maximum fleet availability and operational efficiency; monitor vehicle condition and schedule servicing to reduce breakdowns and downtime.
  • Workshop & Repair Operations: Manage daily workshop activities and maintenance staff; coordinate with external garages vendors and service providers as required; ensure timely completion of repairs; maintain inventory of spare parts tools and consumables.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor maintenance expenses and optimize repair costs; prepare maintenance budgets and cost reports; track fuel efficiency and vehicle performance; identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with transport safety standards and statutory regulations; maintain records of vehicle inspections fitness certificates insurance and permits; implement workplace safety procedures and conduct safety audits and preventive checks.
  • Team Management: Supervise mechanics technicians and maintenance staff; allocate tasks and monitor team performance; conduct technical training and skill development; promote discipline and a strong safety culture.
  • Reporting & Coordination: Prepare maintenance schedules and performance reports; coordinate with fleet logistics and operations departments; maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering or a related field.
  • 7–12 years of experience in vehicle or fleet maintenance preferably within logistics transportation or heavy vehicle environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial vehicles and maintenance systems with hands-on workshop operations and team handling experience.
  • Familiarity with fleet management software and maintenance tracking systems.

Preferred Industry Experience: Logistics and transportation companies fleet management organizations manufacturing and supply chain operations and heavy vehicle maintenance environments.

Salary Range: 600000 –per annum (depending on experience and organization size).
