Senior CloudOps Engineer AWS BAU & Ops Focused

As a Senior CloudOps Engineer you will be solving problems and partnering with our clients to help them build and modernise their applications develop good practices and get the most out of their technology landscape. This role is BAU focused and ideal for someone who thrives in complex cloud environments has deep AWS expertise and can operate as a technical escalation point for delivery and operations teams.

In this role you will act as a Level 3 escalation point for AWS infrastructure platform and application-related issues.  You will Design implement and support highly available scalable and secure AWS solutions and manage and optimise AWS environments for clients operating within Microsoft-centric ecosystems (e.g. Windows Server Active Directory Azure integrations). Additionally the role requires providing performance security and cost optimization recommendations for cloud services enabling greater process efficiencies and improvements as well as capability enhancements. You should be able to contribute to project-based delivery work including building and deploying new cloud solutions.

On a day-to-day basis youll lead incident response problem management and root cause analysis for critical issues be hands-on in developing code shaping requirements designing and deploying solutions and setting up good engineering and quality practices. Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code using tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform. You will also be involved in Ops and afterhours production support (24*7) roster-based on call. Most of all youll have strong consulting skills curiosity and a desire to add value.

Qualifications :

Subject Matter Expertise:

• Strong experience in managed services or enterprise support environments.
• Demonstrated experience in AWS as a senior engineer AWS cloud services (EC2 S3 RDS VPC IAM Lambda etc.).
• Solid experience with networking concepts including VPNs Direct Connect DNS and hybrid cloud setups.
• Significant years of experience working within a Microsoft and Linux environment in AWS Cloud.
• Strong skills in scripting and automation (PowerShell Python or Bash)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. CloudWatch Splunk LogicMonitor).
• Good understanding of cloud security principles and compliance standards
• Customer support - Hands on experience in managing Level 3 tickets
• A demonstrated history of taking initiative and understanding of operating in a compliance environment and understanding/experience of Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
• Exceptional Consulting and Communication Skills.
• Ability to interpret and present results to stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong troubleshooting capability in high-pressure environments.
• Working knowledge of Linux systems administration is highly beneficial (e.g. troubleshooting performance tuning shell usage).
• Demonstrated collaboration skills and a successful track record in building strong relationships with business and technology stakeholder. 
• Exposure to ITIL service management frameworks along with ITIL Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with state or federal governments will be preferred
• AWS Certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect Professional DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with Azure or other hybrid cloud platforms.
