Position Description: We are looking for a skilled Backend & Integration Engineer with deep expertise in FastAPI Python and integration with enterprise systems like ServiceNow and Archer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining our core API layer database and critical service integrations with a strong emphasis on robust testing and observability.
Responsibilities:

. Design build and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using FastAPI and async Python.
. Manage the PostgreSQL database layer including schema migrations with Alembic performance tuning and ensuring data integrity.
. Develop and maintain end-to-end integrations with ServiceNow (SPM/APM/TRM) and Archer implementing comprehensive error handling and retry patterns.
. Own the full bug-fixing lifecycle: reproduce isolate fix and create corresponding regression tests using pytest.
. Implement and champion API contract testing for all internal and external endpoints.
. Ensure high test coverage for all integration paths including failure modes and edge cases.
. Implement structured logging and observability to ensure high visibility into application health and integration pipelines.
. Develop and deploy microservices on cloud platforms like GCP Cloud Run.

Must-Have Skills:

. Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI including asynchronous programming with asyncio.
. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and database migration tools like Alembic.
. Expertise in REST API design and testing with frameworks like pytest.
. Proven experience in application development and support in a cloud environment (GCP Azure or AWS).
. Demonstrated experience with integration error handling retry patterns and writing comprehensive integration tests.
. Strong sense of ownership particularly in bug fixing and authoring regression tests
. Strong Communication skills

Good-to-Have Skills:

. Experience authoring OpenAPI / Swagger specifications.
. Direct integration experience with ServiceNow (SPM/APM/TRM) or Archer.
. Familiarity with financial services or other regulated industries.
. Basic experience with GCP/Cloud Run Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines.
. Experience with file and document handling in backend applications

Education Qualification: Bachelors degree in computer science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
