What this role is all about:

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor and operational resource for managers and employees providing first-line guidance and support on a wide range of People and Culture functions. This role plays a critical part in shaping workforce strategy supporting leadership development and driving change initiatives to ensure alignment with the companys vision mission and growth objectives.

This position also takes a lead role in performance management talent management learning and development compensation benefits payroll and employee and labour relations. The HRBP ensures compliance with company policies and applicable legislation while maintaining accurate documentation and system updates.

This role emphasizes proactive partnership with leadership to align People and Culture strategies with organizational goals and fosters an inclusive high-performance work environment.

This role is an 18-month term position to cover a maternity leave. This role is open to a hybrid work arrangement in the Lower Mainland or Kelowna region of British Columbia.

What youll do:

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Act as a strategic advisor providing insights and guidance on people-related matters including organizational design and talent management.
  • Align HR priorities with business strategies ensuring talent initiatives drive business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with leaders to develop and execute strategies for leadership development team effectiveness and succession planning.

Employee and Manager Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for managers and employees on performance management people and culture programs and workplace investigations.
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of HR policies procedures and collective agreements ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Talent Management and Development

  • Support managers with performance enablement processes and employee development plans to enhance individual and team effectiveness.
  • Support career development and succession planning.

Employee and Labour Relations

  • Participate in employee relations and labour relations matters including CA interpretation
  • Assist in resolving workplace conflicts and fostering positive relationships

HR Systems and Documentation

  • Ensure accuracy of employee data in HRIS systems including updates related to leave cases and job description changes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of HR activities.

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Support recruitment processes including job postings candidate interviews and advising and guiding managers on best practices.
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding experiences for new hires to ensure engagement and alignment with company culture.

Total Rewards

  • Partner with the Total Rewards team to ensure competitive implementation for compensation and benefits programs that attract retain and motivate top talent.
  • Provide guidance to management on salary structures incentive plans and equity-based programs.
  • Ensure alignment of compensation strategies and broader organizational goals.

HR Policy and Compliance

  • Assist in developing reviewing and updating HR policies and employee handbooks to reflect legal and organizational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation staying current on employment laws and HR trends.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and provide actionable insights to management for continuous improvement.

Consultation and Advice

  • Provide day-to-day People & Culture advice and guidance to employees and managers to address challenges and enhance workplace productivity.

Whatyoullbring:

  • Preferred: Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Minimum College Diploma in HR Business Administration or a related field. Relevant certification (e.g. CPHR PHR) is a plus.
  • 5 years of experience in HR advisory generalist or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of labour relations employment laws and People and Culture best practices
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Your Total Rewards:

Annual salary range: $77400 - $96800
