CLASSIFICATION: SUPPORT STAFF

JOB TITLE: SENIOR GENERAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

CALENDAR: 2612H (12 MONTH)

SALARY: GRADE 116 (SUPPORT HOURLY)

Job Goal:

This senior role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all school facilities grounds and equipment. The goal is to keep everything safe in working order and in compliance with all regulations. This involves regular inspections and preventative maintenance along with handling any necessary repairs all to ensure a high standard of safety and efficiency for our students staff and the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with journeyman experience in either the HVAC plumbing or electrical field
  • Expert knowledge in the use of hand power tools and equipment
  • Working knowledge of building and safety codes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints drawings and diagrams
  • Valid AZ drivers license and satisfactory criminal background check
  • Vision and hearing are adequate to safely fulfill job responsibilities
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all policies rules and regulations

Core Job Functions:

  • Lead in a specialized craftsman field with journeyman-level knowledge in the repair alteration maintenance construction and installation of site buildings and grounds
  • Plan direct monitor and train other department employees
  • Maintain records of time materials and parts required to complete work orders
  • Perform heavy labor and maintenance work
  • Operate truck hand-powered tools and equipment assignments
  • Oversee the work of other maintenance personnel as assigned by the supervisor
  • Immediately report safety and security hazards and needs for major repairs
  • Perform other duties relating to the general job function as assigned by the supervisor

Physical Requirements Heavy Work:

  • Ability to work extended periods of time in extreme temperatures (cold salad/sandwich prep inventory for freezer & coolers)
  • Positions in this classification typically require: stooping kneeling crouching standing walking sitting finger or manual dexterity repetitive finger motion speaking hearing seeing (with correction) focusing ability or other factors applicable to the job.
  • Employee must be able to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces while performing various duties including but not limited to push/pull force of up to 100 pounds for various machines.
  • Employee must stand constantly and walk frequently lifting items of various sizes up to 50 pounds. Items over 50 pounds require a second staff member to lift safely.
  • Employee may rarely be required to climb ladders to perform various stocking inventory cleaning or maintenance tasks
  • Employees may be subject to travel fumes odors chemicals blood-borne pathogens workplace restrictions cold and/or hot temperatures and loud noises
