Roles and responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for TNC Indias Renewable Energy (RE) portfolio overseeing the design delivery and scaling of RE programs in collaboration with partners and the global TNC network.
- Lead engagement with senior stakeholders across government (national and state) renewable energy institutions donors and the private sector to strengthen partnerships influence policy and enhance the visibility of TNCs work.
- Provide end-to-end program management oversight for the Renewable Energy portfolio including planning execution risk management budget and timely delivery of outputs and outcomes.
- Guide and contribute to applied research analytics and evidence-based initiatives addressing emerging challenges in renewable energy conservation and land-use planning.
- Drive monitoring evaluation learning and communications to ensure high-quality program delivery accountability and measurable impact.
- Conceptualize new initiatives and support fundraising efforts by working closely with the Development team and internal stakeholders to mobilize resources for transformative energy transition outcomes.
- Develop and deliver TNC Indias Renewable Energy strategy aligned with organizational 2030 goals and Government of India priorities.
- Have opportunities to participate in and share knowledge across TNCs other global renewable energy programs. Play a key role in internal coordination and reporting across TNCs regional and global structures.
- Build and manage a high-performing team providing leadership mentoring and performance management to support program growth.
- Represent TNC India at national and global platforms conferences and policy forums showcasing RE work and contributing to global best practices.
- Contribute as a member of the India Management Team supporting the overall growth strategy and impact of TNCs climate and conservation agenda.
- This position is embedded within TNCs global Clean Energy Transition program providing opportunities to contribute to and learn from global initiatives. The role supports continuous professional growth through international collaboration while strengthening TNC Indias impact and alignment with global clean energy and conservation priorities.
What Youll Bring:
Minimum Qualifications
- MTech or MSc in Renewable Energy Environmental Science Engineering or a related field.
- 1012 years of progressive professional experience in renewable energy clean energy transition climate change sustainability or related fields with demonstrated leadership at program or portfolio level.
- A sound understanding of the diversity of actors and perspectives across the energy system particularly within India.
- Exposure to development sector and Renewable Energy (RE) projects (concept to commissioning).
- Ability to adapt and pivot to changes and uncertainty within a Programme / project cycle by innovating process design and troubleshooting problems.
- Proven experience managing complex multi-stakeholder projects including financial management and effective coordination with internal peers and external partners.
- Experience in working with international organizations government agencies and stakeholders.
- Deep expertise in renewable energy technologies (mainly solar and wind).
- Proficiency in energy policy and regulation.
- Experience utilizing tools and techniques for Programme management.
- Experience in supporting strategic programs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Line management as well as coaching/support to ensure that individuals and teams feel inspired and skilled up to deliver high quality work.
- Communicates effectively in English (written and spoken) and at least one Indian language
- Produces well-structured and comprehensive proposals and reports.
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred: PhD MTech MSc in Renewable Energy Environmental Science Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 10-15 years of supervisory experience.
- Team management experience with Strong network and connections.
- On-ground implementation expertise in utility-scale solar projects.
- Familiarity with Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) and Environmental health and safety (EHS) procedures.
- Candidates have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. MS Projects Primavera Smartsheet).
- Knowledge of Renewable Energy (RE) characteristics (solar wind biomass).
- Understanding of global and national Renewable Energy (RE) policies project cycle management financing and market analysis.
- Awareness of social economic and ecological impacts of Renewable Energy (RE) projects in India.
- Familiarity with geospatial tools.
- Experience conducting Environmental Impact Analysis.
- Strategic thinking and advanced analytical abilities.
- International experience and team management skills.
