As part of Caterpillars Resource Industries Electrification Solutions (RIES) team the Electrification Value Chain Manager plays a critical role at the forefront of mining electrification. This is a high-visibility high-impact leadership role where you will be handson to design build and execute customerback endtoend value chains that enable nextgeneration electrified mining solutions.

In this role you will directly support and shape the real-world performance of Cat Dynamic Energy Transfer a Caterpillar-developed technology that delivers energy to diesel-electric and battery-electric mining trucks while in operation. You will collaborate closely with suppliers customers dealers and multiple Caterpillar teams to ensure availability cost quality and resilience across the end-to-end value chain.
You wont just support electrification technology you will define how it scales performs and succeeds in the field.
What you will do:
Lead and develop value chain engineering teams including staffing coaching performance management and succession planning
Design and optimize electrification value chains by working backward from customer dealer and site requirements to define planning sourcing and manufacturing strategies
Drive high-impact long-duration value chain engineering and continuous improvement initiatives to meet engineering quality and business commitments
Partner closely with logistics operations product engineering process engineering product support lifecycle management suppliers dealers and customers
Manage value chain risk recovery and resilience planning for foreseeable and unforeseen disruptions
Translate demand signals and product roadmaps into capacity resource and production plans
Develop and evaluate business cases to support value chain investments trade-offs and strategic decisions
Establish governance metrics and operating rhythms to sustain performance and accountability
What skills you will have:
Business Acumen
Designs planning processes and decisionmaking channels that support electrification value chains deployed at active mine sites
Explains business issues and trends within Resource Industries electrification programs and how they compare to other Caterpillar businesses
Demonstrates a bigpicture understanding of how technology performance supplier capability customer uptime and financial outcomes are interconnected
Applies strong business fundamentals metrics and financial acumen to evaluate cost availability uptime and investment tradeoffs
Develops and reviews business cases supporting electrification scaleup supplier strategies and sitespecific value chain decisions
Planning (Tactical & Strategic)
Develops and communicates tactical execution plans supporting electrification deployment.
Provides appropriate planning detail to support multiyear electrification roadmaps and scaling strategies
Links nearterm execution activities (site readiness supply assurance commissioning) to longterm Resource Industries electrification strategy
Manages crossfunctional interdependencies across logistics engineering suppliers and site operations to maintain execution discipline
Allocates resources in line with technical requirements minesite constraints and business priorities
Ensures planning processes are integrated with overall Caterpillar business and electrification strategies
Process Management
Coaches teams on process value analysis to improve endtoend electrification value chain performance
Evaluates diagnoses and optimizes processes spanning supplier networks site logistics installation and operational support
Demonstrates a deep understanding of major process flows impacting energy transfer systems machine uptime and availability
Synchronizes work and resource requirements across Caterpillar teams suppliers dealers and customer site stakeholders
Designs and implements processes that enhance value chain resilience scalability and operational reliability for firstofkind and scaling technologies
Quality Management
Uses quality indicators relevant to electrification systems site deployment and operational performance
Adheres to Caterpillar quality management processes while operating in dynamic customerfacing mine environments
Applies continuous improvement methods to improve technology performance reliability and uptime
Uses inspections walkthroughs and field feedback to identify and mitigate quality risks early
Partners with quality assurance teams to support safe reliable electrification solutions
Decision Making & Critical Thinking
Differentiates assumptions perspectives and historical context when making decisions in newtechnology and sitespecific environments
Evaluates prior deployment and operational decisions to improve future electrification execution
Assesses options and predicts impacts related to supplier readiness site constraints schedule cost and customer outcomes
Advises crossfunctional leaders using synthesized data and structured alternatives
Applies appropriate decisionmaking styles (consultative command or consensus) in highvisibility highimpact situations
Challenges assumptions and received wisdom when deploying new electrification technologies
Capacity Planning & Management (Manufacturing):
Partners with R&D to plan capacity and resource requirements for electrification systems under development and deployment
Creates consolidated forecasts across multiple products suppliers and facilities supporting mining electrification
Leads short and longterm capacity planning cycles aligned to pilot scaleup and production phases
Evaluates alternative capacity strategies to balance speed cost and risk
Develops cost estimates for incremental capacity required to support electrification growth
Translates demand signals into actionable production and capacity requirements
Industrial Engineering (Manufacturing)
Assesses root causes of failures in manufacturing or siterelated systems supporting electrification solutions
Collects production safety and capability data from manufacturing and deployment environments
Applies industrial engineering principles to improve flow safety and efficiency
Follows standards and policies to identify and report industrial engineering issues
Engages in operational discussions related to manufacturing and site execution performance
Strategic Sourcing
Monitors execution across all stages of strategic sourcing for critical electrification components and systems
Trains and mentors others on strategic sourcing practices in complex multistakeholder environments
Designs and develops standard supplier agreements supporting new technology deployment and scaling
Leads complex sourcing activities including negotiations contracting and continuous improvement
Consults on sourcing strategies relative to supplier integration dependencies and minesite realities
Communicates strategic sourcing best practices and rationale internally and externally
Education requirement:
Bachelors degree required in an accredited Engineering Computer Science or Materials Science curriculums
Top candidates will also have:
Experience with CustomerBack Value Chain Design aligning supply chain manufacturing and sourcing strategies to customer needs and delivery commitments
Strong understanding of endtoend OrdertoDelivery systems including demand planning capacity planning sourcing manufacturing and logistics
Experience supporting electrification electric drive systems battery-electric or diesel-electric equipment or high-voltage industrial systems
Background in capacity planning resource planning and demand-to-production translation
Knowledge of industrial engineering principles in manufacturing or heavy equipment environments
Experience with strategic sourcing supplier negotiations contracting and supplier performance improvement
Track record of leading value chain transformation or new technology industrialization
Comfort working hands-on at customer or site-based locations with high operational visibility
Additional information:
The location for this position isTucson AZ and will require to be on-site 5 days a week.
Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.
This position will require 15% travel.

Summary Pay Range:
$159120.00 - $238680.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
