Information Technology Network Engineer
Job Summary
The IT Network Engineer is responsible for the administration and continuous improvement of the Universitys network infrastructure across multiple physical campuses and cloud environments. This role ensures the availability and security of network systems including on-premises and cloud-based resources. The position requires strong expertise in network infrastructure design and operations security best practices and troubleshooting complex network and security issues in a multi-site hybrid position follows a hybrid work schedule requiring a minimum of 3 days on DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities include:Implement and manage enterprise network infrastructure across multiple campuses including core and edge switching routing firewalls wireless networks and and support routing and switching technologies including VLANs routing protocols and high availability network and optimize network performance availability and capacity across all locations and proactively resolve core network services such as DNS DHCP IP address management and Network Time Protocol to ensure reliable network and enforce network and infrastructure security policies standards and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and audit and maintain firewall security policies NAT configurations and VPN access controls including implementation and support of site-to-site VPN and maintain redundancy high availability and disaster recovery strategies for network and core infrastructure and secure cloud connectivity during the hybrid-to-cloud transition including network segmentation secure access controls and integration with on-premises and support networking components within Amazon Web Services (AWS).Partner with IT leadership application owners vendors and stakeholders to support the development of secure network and infrastructure architecture requirements aligned with business and academic with external vendors contractors and IT team members to coordinate low voltage installation and network configuration for new classrooms meeting rooms and event and maintain documentation of network architecture configurations and security DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide technical support and guidance to IT team members or end-users as perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to IN ORGANIZATIONREPORTS TO: Senior Systems AdministratorPOSITIONS SUPERVISED: NoneTECHNICAL MANAGERIAL & PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIREDTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
