Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Special Education (SPED)
Location: Tucson AZ
Schedule:
- Monday Thursday: 7:30 AM 3:00 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM 1:00 PM
- 35 hours per week No weekends
- Follows academic calendar (including holidays and scheduled breaks)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide support within a Special Education (SPED) program including services for students with visual impairments. This role involves assisting students in a structured school setting ensuring their daily care needs are met while supporting their educational development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and assistance to students with special needs
- Support students with activities of daily living including feeding hygiene toileting and mobility
- Assist during classroom instruction and student transitions throughout the day
- Observe and report any health or behavioral concerns to appropriate staff
- Collaborate with educators healthcare staff and support teams
- Maintain a safe clean and inclusive environment
- Follow individualized care plans and student-specific accommodations
- Encourage student independence through positive support and engagement
- Adhere to all applicable policies procedures and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Prior experience in a school setting or working with children preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with special needs or visual impairments is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain a consistent weekday schedule
- Patient reliable and adaptable in a dynamic environment
- Basic understanding of healthcare practices and safety protocols
- Ability to work effectively within a team
