Job Summary
Dover Hydraulics a SunSource company is a full-service hydraulic repair and engineering company serving the backbone of American industry since 1982. The role of this position is to hone cylinder parts to size using large hone and small hand hone in our machine shop. The ideal candidate will understand how to measure for size using micrometers. This is an entry-level position with the long term goal of moving to manual machining.
Requirements
- Operate the large hone located in the machine shop
- Operate the hand hone located in the machine shop* Changing Hone Heads on both
- Ensure that the daily clean-up procedure completed for the Hone equipment and other machines as needed
- Ensure that an organized workspace is maintained and that all tooling is appropriately returned to its storage location
- Report any difficulties with completing daily task(s)
- Follow all DHI safety guidelines and report any accidents or un-safe condition
- Accurately record start and stop times in our Job Tracking System (DATS)
- Train to the cylinder shop Honing Procedure DHI-CS
Qualifications/Skills
- Reading ID/OD Micrometers
- Basic Math (conversions metric to standard)
- Crane Operation
- Fork Truck Operation
- Able to exert pressure needed to operate the hand hone
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more repetitively during an 8 hour shift
Education and Experience
- HS Graduate with Vocational Training in the Machine Trades desired
- Willingness to learn
Hours
Full time Monday through Friday 6:00 am 2:00 pm.
