Westhaven is seeking an experienced leader to foster and promote an organisational culture which enables the delivery of high-quality safe and child-focused services to enable children and young people living with disability to live life the way they choose.
About the role:
As the Service Manager Children Services you will lead and motivate multiple Team Leaders through innovative change to ensure the provision of personalised and exceptional child and young person experiences and continue to place children and young people at the centre of everything we do.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure the effective management of Disability compliance requirements
Grow Westhavens impact by increasing the volume of services we deliver to enable people with disability to live life the way they choose
Enact continual improvement processes to drive operational efficiency and maintain cost discipline to ensure financial sustainability
Build a culture of leadership accountability and effectiveness
Celebrate and nurture an inclusive diverse and supportive workplace
Act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote a culture that reflects Westhavens Core values through demonstrated behaviours and interactions with participants and employees.
To be on the forefront of this opportunity you will have:
Sound understanding of the needs and supports of people living with a Disability.
Demonstrate a knowledge of the principles and practices relevant to delivering quality services within a Disability organisation.
Demonstrated working knowledge of legislation including: Disability Discrimination Act the NDIS Act Child Protection Act and relevant legislation relating to safety.
Knowledge and understanding of the 10 essential elements of Intensive Therapeutic Care and understanding of trauma attachments and child development theory.
A strong understanding of accreditation and compliance requirements in the NDIS sector and the Office of the Childrens Guardian.
Have proven leadership capability in the delivery of change management with hands-on leadership skills and the ability to mentor and skill-develop a team.
Advanced problem solving capabilities confidence and emotional intelligence that enables you to resolve complex situations.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Enthusiasm and a focus and drive to achieve excellence.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
High degree of integrity and strong customer focus.
Competent user of Google Suite and technology.
Demonstrated working experience and understanding of the support needs of children and young people with a significant disability across home and community settings.
Essential requirements of the role:
Tertiary qualifications related to Health Allied Health and/or Social Services or demonstrated equivalent experience
Current valid NSW Drivers licence
Obtain and maintain a current paid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Obtain and maintain a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme Workers Check (NDISWC)
