The Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Team is the backbone of AWS supporting the rapid growth of AWS business and customers 24x7. We commit to maintain the critical facility infrastructure of AWS and ensure the standards for operational performance in the areas of safety security availability productivity capacity efficiency and cost. The DCEO Team is seeking individuals who are motivated self-starters eager to learn passionate and committed to join us. Key job responsibilities
Key Job Responsibilities:

-Serve as the primary technical owner for daily facility operations including infrastructure and commissioning. Oversee vendors for compliance with safety protocols and local legislation. Support operations project and stakeholder teams on tasks reporting and issue resolution.
-Directly operate monitor and maintain critical facility systems including switchgear generators UPS systems power distribution equipment chillers cooling towers computer room air handlers and building monitoring systems.
-Engage in on-call responsibilities and respond promptly to emergency situations or incidents such as power failures or natural disasters; develop review and refine Emergency Operations Procedures to effectively handle these situations.
-Perform first-line troubleshooting and reporting of facility and high-criticality events including rack down and high severity events within service level agreement (SLA); provide timely escalation for all facilities-related issues within the data center.
-Generate and manage change management requests incident management tickets and utilize administrative tools for ticketing and asset management.
-Coordinate with partners to execute projects manage capacity and optimize plant performance and reliability. Facilitate rack installations and conduct space power and cooling assessments.
-Participate in 7x24 operations with flexibility for schedule changes depending on specific site needs on shift basis.

A day in the life
Also expected from the EOT is the ability to execute small-to-medium impacting projects from conception to completion. These projects involve moderate amounts of independent work as well as collaboration with external support groups including engineering automation processing and finance in controlled environments. The EOT will be tasked with creating and delivering key milestones obtaining and tracking quotes for all necessary costs and documenting project results. The goals of such projects are to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs in the facilities.

The Data Center Engineering Operations Team is a group committed to maintaining the critical data center infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services. Specifically this team works to ensure that the facilitys Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing systems operate at near 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the supporting teams and key stakeholders of the data centers.

- High school or equivalent diploma
- 2 years of electrical or mechanical experience
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical HVAC systems Controls)
- Knowledge of BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending
- A valid Registered Electrical Worker (REW) Certificate Grade A or above
- A valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) and a Construction Workers Registration Card are required
- Understanding of critical facilities operational principles
- Proficiency in computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word Excel Outlook)
- Basic English skills e.g. oral and reading/writing to communicate with international teams during incidents

- 5 years of electrical or mechanical experience
- A valid Registered Electrical Worker (REW) Certificate Grade B or above
- Solid knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical HVAC systems Controls)
- Solid knowledge of BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending
