The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate PaediatricPhysiotherapistto join our energeticChild & Family Team atAccess Health & Community. We are seeking adynamic Grade 2 or experienced Grade 1 Physiotherapist.

This role is ideal for an applicant who demonstrates a passion for working within a multi and transdisciplinary supportive team environment in the wonderful world of paediatrics where your ideas are genuinely valued. Youll have the opportunity to help shape and evolve our service delivery.

Youll be part of aclose-knit and supportive team including over 40 paediatric allied health professionals with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality best-practice services to pre-school and school-aged children and their families within the communities in the Eastern and Outer Eastern suburbs.

This is a permanent part time position and we are open to considering candidates that would be looking for a part time 0.6 - .8 EFT role. The role is based across our sites in Balwyn North & Lilydale with the ability to travel to our other sites in Doncaster and Belgrave.

About the role

The position encompasses promotion of health and wellbeing across the spectrum from prevention and early intervention through to a range of goal-directed treatments and care planning. The role is expected to foster an environment that reflects family-centred care. A Senior Physiotherapist will provide one-to-one supervision and multiple peer supervision opportunities exist to support a rich learning environment.

Your caseload will include children between 0 and 12 years with developmental delays and disability. The successful applicant will work with children who are funded under a mix of public and NDIS health funding.

Services are delivered in a variety of ways including:

  • Clinic-based individual and joint sessions with another allied health discipline
  • Groups including movement-based social communication and school readiness skills-based programs
  • Telehealth
  • Homes kindergartens childcare centres and other community spaces

What you will be doingKey Responsibilities

  • Operate a paediatric Physiotherapy service within multi and transdisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of centre based and outreach services to all eligible clients
  • Assess plan and provide interventions for a caseload of pre-school and school aged children
  • Initiate plan implement and evaluate group therapy programs for children
  • Participate in client care meetings and department meetings for the purposes of team care planning case conferencing and client review
  • In collaboration with other AccessHC Child & Family service staff and management review the content of individual & group programs and make service changes based on the outcome of these reviews

What you will bringKey Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in physiotherapy
  • Experience working with children in a health or community-based setting
  • For Grade 2 a minimum of 3 years experience working with children in physiotherapy position
  • Demonstrate knowledge of typical and atypical childhood development in order to understand the childs developmental delay or disability
  • Demonstrate skills in physiotherapy assessment and intervention based on current evidenced-based practice to ensure positive outcomes for the child and family
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in planning and delivering group therapy programs

Compliance Requirements:

  • Professional registration - AHPRA
  • National Police Check Working with Children Check NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia and a valid Drivers Licence
  • First Aid and CPR
