General Information/Duties:
- Support and coach district paraprofessionals using research-based practices to ensure students are meeting their goals and objectives.
- Support the developmental and instructional gains of all students by working collaboratively with teachers across general and special education to build capacity for practices that increase student performance.
- Coordinate and network with building teams under the direction of the Director of Student Support Services and building leadership to ensure the appropriate consideration of programming academics and behavioral success of students
- Provides services to students experiencing moderate to significant behavioral problems.
- Collects data regarding behavioral intervention plans and services provided to students.
- Knowledge of and supports inclusion in both theory and practice
- Knowledge with the ability to facilitate the application of evidence-based practices across content areas for advancing student performance
- Possesses knowledge of the least restrictive environment to meet student programming options
- Demonstrate competence in gathering analyzing applying and reporting data
- Ability to make data-based decisions for student growth
- Develop and deliver professional development for paraprofessionals
- Effectively and consistently communicate and interact with students parents staff and the community
- Be a team player; working with other members to improve techniques relations with the community and the school environment
- Committed to continuous improvement through training and the use of technology.
- Perform other duties consistent with the scope of the position
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Special Education or Social Work
- At least three (3) years of experience working with students with emotional impairments or significant behavior problems
- Possess a good working relationship with peers and has a credible reputation in the school system
- Ability and willingness to work in a team setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the academic social and emotional needs of the school-age student is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified under one of the following credentials:
- A licensed Masters level psychologist or school psychologist;
- A licensed Masters level professional counselor;
- A licensed Masters level social worker or school social worker.
- Teacher Consultant (Special Education Endorsement in ASD CI or EI required
Terms of Employment:
Full-time position. Compensation to commensurate based on education and experience. Starting at $41375
