This Senior Manufacturing Engineer position will be focused all areas of Turbine Assembly (Unit Assembly Unit to Base Casings Prep and Pipe shop) to lead internal processes that safely ensures the production of high-quality products that meet compliance and project requirements. This position will help drive continuous improvement initiatives across the product lines by owning project timelines improving cycle & cost and guide the teams to solve technical/process issues. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will mentor and coach the other manufacturing engineers in the cell to help them grow.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead improvement efforts for assembly/fabrication process reliability process controls and ergonomic solutions
- Manage projects and continuous improvement efforts in accordance with plant metrics
- Own execution of capital investments delivering desired outcomes on schedule & within budget
- Work cross-functionally to support LEAN activities and new technologies
- Mentor and coach manufacturing & quality engineers in the cell
- Provide technical leadership and support for training of assemblers/fabricators across areas of expertise
- Maintain and improve process documentation to ensure consistent quality.
- Implement and maintain 5S solutions in assigned areas drive culture change
- Drive improvements partnering with outside vendors to improve consumable cost
- Develop machine fixture and tooling strategies for new product introduction
- Develop & maintain work instructions (methods) & shop floor routings/steps to support operator/assembler training and process control
- Partner with engineering to help drive design improvements to reduce waste cycle defects and ergonomic challenges.
- Lead and manage cell P&E budget and spend.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in shop operations facilitation or production control in a manufacturing / service environment
