Summary:

The Cement Dev. Engineer is a learning and training position with the engineer expected to developleadership technical and organizational skills while performing a variety of assigned job functions. Thisposition works from a mentoring relationship with a key staff member who themselves have developedtheir careers along a hierarchy of acquired skills. The position is available for frequent exchange andfeedback with this individual. The Cement Dev. Engineer may be required to work rotating shifts andshould have the ability to relocate to any plant with the Company.

What youll be contributing:

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Performs a variety of subjective fundamental skills to measure development and advancement in the role.
• Understands the organization and reporting responsibilities within the environment the typicalstaff roles by position and interpersonal relationships among co-workers.
• Deals with the public regulatory community vendors customers non-union and off-hourdemand unique to continuous process industries.
• Develops safe work habits leadership skills effective communication professional networkingbudgeting and cost control.
• Develops an understanding of the cement production process - raw materials to finish milling - quality.
• Participates in process activities with departments.
• Learns how to conduct mass and heat balances air flows circuit efficiency studies and anyrelated testing necessary to maintain operating efficiencies.
• Engages in study to understand the programming of the plants programmable logic control (PLC)and distributed control systems (DCS)
• Completes performance testing and measurements on production equipment.
• Completes MDE training matrix.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position you will need:

• Ability to read write and understand warning labels instructions signs etc.
• Bachelors Degree in Physical Sciences Chemical Engineering Mining Engineering or Chemistry required.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or above preferred
• Previous work experience is preferred but not required
• Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of pyro processing thermodynamics heat transfer airflow inorganic chemistry andrelated principles.
• Knowledge of desktop and LAN data processing. Demonstrated understanding of popularspreadsheet word processing and database software.
• Ability to refer to supervisor when clarification of organization policy is needed.

What to expect in a cement environment:

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust heat cold and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
