Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.

We are seeking a Technical / Laboratory Assistant to provide technical support and research assistance within a laboratory environment. The role involves preparing laboratories for experiments and teaching activities supporting research and data collection maintaining equipment and supplies and ensuring safe and compliant laboratory operations.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide technical support and research assistance to staff students and researchers within the laboratory

  • prepare the laboratory for experiments practicals and tutorials in accordance with scientific protocols

  • assist with experiments in collaboration with researchers students and technical staff

  • train staff visitors and students in the safe operation of laboratory equipment

  • coordinate cleaning and sterilisation of laboratory materials tools and equipment

  • maintain laboratory supplies and equipment including coordinating maintenance and repairs

  • assist with the safe storage and disposal of hazardous substances

  • support a clean and safe laboratory environment in line with health and safety requirements

  • assist with preparation of scientific documentation including data collection and analysis

  • undertake other duties and projects appropriate within the classification level as required.

About you

  • certificate iii certificate iv diploma or equivalent qualifications in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of training and experience

  • certified to work in a laboratory

  • experience working in a laboratory environment and handling hazardous substances

  • experience implementing safety requirements and maintaining safe work practices

  • experience using databases or statistical analysis programs

  • strong organisation and time management skills with attention to detail

  • ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team.
