Strategy Architecture and Transformation Group

Developer Experience PMO & Finance Technology Partner
The Developer Experience team serves as the technology business partner to the Project Management Office (PMO) and Finance divisions. The PMO is a standalone division responsible for the end-to-end project management lifecycle from project initiation approval and funding through to tracking reporting and closure. Our role is to understand their business needs and deliver the technology solutions tooling and integrations that support their processes.

What impact can you make in this role
As a Project Manager you will be the key link between the Developer Experience team and the PMO and Finance divisions. You will deeply understand their business processes how projects are initiated approved funded tracked reported and closed and translate those needs into technology requirements and solutions.
This role requires someone with a strong understanding of both project management business analysis and finance who is organised detail-oriented and comfortable working across engineering teams PMO stakeholders and finance partners.

What will you do as a Project Manager

Project Management Lifecycle

  • Understand and analyse the PMOs end-to-end project management lifecycle: initiation approval funding execution tracking reporting and closure.
  • Gather and translate PMO business requirements into technology solutions tooling configurations and process improvements.
  • Work with the PMO to define and maintain Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) codes to ensure consistent project categorisation and financial tracking.
  • Support the delivery of dashboards reports and workflows that give the PMO visibility into project progress and risks.
  • Facilitate discussions between the PMO Finance and engineering teams to align on requirements priorities and trade-offs.

Financial Analysis & Budget Management

  • Support the financial planning and tracking of technology project budgets including forecasting actuals tracking and variance analysis.
  • Work with WBS codes and financial structures to ensure project costs are accurately categorised and reported.
  • Work with finance and procurement teams to manage vendor costs contract renewals and licensing spend related to technology platforms.
  • Interface with finance systems (e.g. SAP) to reconcile project budgets track expenditure and support financial reporting cycles.
  • Prepare financial reports and summaries for senior leadership translating project financials into clear and actionable insights.
  • Identify cost optimisation opportunities across technology projects and platform operations.

Requirements Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary bridge between the PMO/Finance divisions and the Developer Experience engineering team.
  • Gather document and analyse business requirements from PMO and Finance stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into clear specifications user stories or process flows that engineering teams can act on.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to align PMO Finance and engineering teams on requirements priorities and trade-offs.


Process Improvement & Tooling

  • Identify opportunities to improve PMO processes templates and reporting mechanisms.
  • Support the configuration and administration of project management and portfolio tools (e.g. Jira Jira Strategy Collection Planview ServiceNow Confluence).
  • Contribute to the development of standardised frameworks for project intake approval funding prioritisation and delivery tracking.
  • Drive improvements in how project and financial data flows between PMO tools and finance systems.

What makes you a successful candidate

Experience & Background

  • Bachelors degree in Business Information Technology Finance or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in business analysis project management support or technology finance roles.
  • Experience working in technology organisations or supporting technology project delivery is advantageous.

Analytical & Financial Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with project financials budgets forecasts and WBS structures.
  • Experience working with finance systems (e.g. SAP) for budget tracking cost reporting or financial reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g. Excel Python or similar).
  • Ability to synthesise information from multiple sources and present clear concise summaries to senior stakeholders

Project Management & Governance

  • Understanding of the full project management lifecycle initiation approval funding execution tracking reporting and closure.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g. Agile Waterfall or hybrid approaches).
  • Experience with project management and portfolio tools (e.g. Jira Jira Strategy Collection Planview ServiceNow Confluence MS Project).
  • Understanding of project governance frameworks change management and risk tracking.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable facilitating meetings workshops and discussions with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
