Job Summary

An exciting opportunity exists for a rotating Grade 1 Physiotherapist to join our highly valued Allied Health team at Epworth Geelong. At Epworth Geelong our physiotherapists provide care to patients in the Emergency Department ICU acute wards inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation services. The Physiotherapy team delivers care as part of the wider multidisciplinary Allied Health team is responsive to the emerging requirements of our growing organisation and is engaged in current Epworth driven research trials. Patient profiles include but are not limited to orthopaedics neurology cardiorespiratory general medical surgical oncology and pain management. This Grade 1 position will rotate through Inpatient Rehabilitation Acute and Outpatient Rehabilitation units at Epworth Geelong.  The role will be well supported by Grade 3 and Grade 2 physiotherapists and work alongside Allied Health Assistants and the broader Allied Health team. 

To be successful in this role you will be a competent clinician who is able to effectively manage a varied clinical caseload with the support of a Grade 2 and Grade 3 clinician.  You will be focused on optimal clinical outcomes evidenced based practice and excellent patient experience.  You will demonstrate motivation for ongoing learning a willingness to always ask questions and an openness to feedback.  


Reporting to the Deputy Manager - Physiotherapy you will be responsible for providing physiotherapy interventions and management for patients at Epworth Geelong. This is inclusive of delivery of hydrotherapy for suitable patients. Additional responsibilities include Allied Health Assistant supervision as well as quality improvement activities.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience working as a physiotherapist in a hospital setting (desirable)
  • Exposure to and demonstrated experience delivering acute and sub-acute clinical care
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proven ability to manage a busy clinical load confidently prioritising tasks as required
  • Excellent time management skills and a high attention to detail in all aspects of your work

Qualifications :

  • A Bachelor or Post Graduate degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current Physiotherapy AHPRA registration
