Hope For Youth has been a trusted leader in child welfare for over 55 years. Were looking for an experienced energetic HR Recruiter Specialist to help drive our people strategy through what we call the Six Rs: recruitment retention rejuvenation-plus research react and respect.
Based onsite in our Amityville office this role is more than filling positions-its about building pipelines strengthening community partnerships and elevating HFYs reputation as an employer of choice in the nonprofit human services space. Youll play a critical role in attracting engaging and retaining talent that fuels our mission.

Qualifications include:
HR or recruiting experience-you know the work and you get it done
Solid understanding of employment laws especially in hiring and recruiting
You thrive in fast-paced environments and move with urgency flexibility and a figure it out mindset
Natural relationship-builder with managers candidates and community partners
Organized process-driven and known for strong follow-through
Tech-savvy-you use systems and data to track report and improve results
You bring personality creativity and positive energy to everything you do
Trusted with confidential information and committed to best practices
Strong communicator-clear confident and comfortable on the phone and in groups
Team-first mindset-you show up pitch in and make the team stronger
BA degree in Human Resources a plus or 1-2 years HR recruiting experience required.
Additional qualifications include:
Reliable daily access to a personal vehicle for recruitment activities and travel
Experience in a nonprofit or social services environment strongly preferred
Dependable and professional onsite presence; consistently meets schedule and job expectations
Willing and able to represent HFY at job fairs community events and other recruitment initiatives
Physical Requirements: read/write reports and log entries walking/standing for prolonged periods bending/stooping kneeling/squatting climbing stairs reaching overhead repetitive wrist/finger movements driving and ongoing access to reliable vehicle and driving own vehicle for work.
