The ideal candidate at minimum must have the following:
Option 1:
- 6 courses in human resources education sociology or psychology or 18 months experience in preparing informational or instructional programs; AND 18 months training or 18 months experience in public speaking or effective communication skills; AND 3 months training or 3 months experience in operating audio visual equipment.
OR
Option 2:
- Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohios OCSEA Pay Schedule Pay Range 31. Unless required by legislation or union contract starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1 currently $27.92per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.

What You Will Do
As an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Training Officer you will serve as a critical resource in strengthening the knowledge skills and performance of UI personnel. This role focuses on training. It includes finding out what training is needed creating easy-to-understand learning materials and leading engaging training sessions that follow current policies procedures and rules.
You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts supervisors policy teams and operational units to ensure training content is accurate relevant and effective. Your work directly supports service quality operational consistency compliance helping staff confidently navigate UI systems claims processes and customer facing tasks.
This position is well-suited for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment has strong communication and instructional skills and is passionate about developing others. It offers the chance to make a tangible impact on both staff performance and claimant experience while continuing to grow in training development delivery and evaluation.
Job Duties
Plan schedule and facilitate training sessions managing agendas logistics and equipment.
Assess UI training needs and review policies procedures and materials for relevance.
Develop and update training curricula presentations and eLearning content using Word Excel Captivate PowerPoint and other tools.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to recommend improvements and gather input for content updates.
Collect and analyze participant feedback to refine and enhance training programs.
Challenges

Engage learners with varied backgrounds using adaptable and creative training methods.
Coordinate facilities speakers and materials efficiently to support smooth training delivery.

Schedule: Full-time
Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Travel: You will travel as needed to conduct training sessions across the state that could include flexible hours and overnight stays.
