Purpose of the post:

The Professionally Qualified Social Worker (PQSW) will work as part of the HSE Adult Safeguarding & Protection Team in the Carlow/Kilkenny/South Tipperary (CKST) Integrated Healthcare Area providing specialist social work support in response to safeguarding concerns in nursing homes and older person residential care facilities. The role focuses on offering professional advice guidance and support to nursing home staff and designated officers in managing complex safeguarding issues affecting older adults in residential care. The post contributes to strengthening safeguarding practice promoting a positive safeguarding culture and supporting national policy objectives through collaboration with residential care providers facilitation of resident awareness initiatives and the delivery of high quality consistent safeguarding responses across the region.
