Job Description:
Purpose summary:
This position will provide general support to various services in the Community and Family Services setting of a Ministry Unit.
KEY Accountabilities:
The incumbent may perform all some or similar range of duties:
As directed support pre-planned program activities for the community (food bank crafts sports games music homework stations Bible-based devotions community church meetings etc.)
Work in a team setting supporting various tasks and activities.
Provide general administrative support greeting visitors supporting reception forwarding visitors etc.
Provide general assistance during public relations events and regular campaigns.
Maintain strict confidentially of all matters pertaining to the program participants.
Adhere to policies and procedures relating to the programs.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The incumbents work environment is typically in an office environment.
May be required to move/lift up to 30 pounds.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Armys health and safety policies and procedures.
. Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion.
. Alternative combination of education and Experience may be considered.
Education Qualifications and Certifications:
Completion of some high school course work is required.
CPR First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Training or willingness to complete once hired.
Experience and Knowledge:
The incumbent must have a year of related experience.
Skills and Capabilities:
Maintain and promote a positive image of The Salvation Army by providing a high caliber of services and dealing with others in a courteous and professional manner.
Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.
Good team player.
Organized and attentive to details.
This is a temporary full time position ending Aug 21 2026
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $17.00 to $18.08 with a maximum of $21.69.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
