Job Summary
As a Laborer you will work under the direction of the Foreman and perform a variety of construction-related tasks. This includes heavy lifting digging equipment cleaning site preparation pipe system assembly and operating construction tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Role and Responsibilities:
Digging spreading and leveling dirt sand and gravel using a pick shovel or rake.
Lift carry and hold construction materials tools and supplies.
Clean tools equipment materials and work area.
Mix pour and spread concrete asphalt gravel and other materials using hand tools.
Join wrap and seal sections of pipe.
Perform a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms filling excavations placing pipe sections in trench and assembling sections of pipe.
Perform a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil jack hammering and assisting in the excavation of pipe.
Must be able to climb on off and under various pieces of equipment and physically access all parts of equipment to perform job requirements.
Comply with all safety policies practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety Manager.
Other duties as assigned.

Skills Knowledge & Expertise
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred
One (1) year of heavy civil construction experience preferred
Must be able to travel if needed
A valid drivers license
Physical Requirements:
Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
Must be able to physically lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
Must be able to climb on off and under various pieces of equipment and physically access all parts of equipment to perform job requirements.
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers. Ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.
Working Conditions:
The work environment/physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain sun snow wind etc.)
The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions extreme cold and extreme heat.
The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and high and/ or precarious places.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
