Job Description/Primary Purpose:
The CCMR and Academic Counseling Coordinator leads and manages the development implementation and monitoring of systems that ensure all students are prepared for success in college careers and military pathways. This role coordinates academic advising postsecondary planning and readiness initiatives at the high school level while supporting counselors students and families in making informed decisions about graduation plans and future goals. This position plays a critical role in bridging academic success with real-world readiness ensuring every student graduates with a clear and viable plan for their future.
Valid Texas teaching and counselor certification and/or administration certification required
Experience:
3 years of secondary education experience
Expertise (preferred): Working knowledge of CCMR indicators CTE pathways and counseling frameworks
Proven ability to coordinate programs conduct data analysis and implement effective student interventions
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Leadership and Coordination
Lead and coordinate campus CCMR initiatives to meet or exceed state accountability standards
Collaborate with CTE Director on the development and monitoring of CTE pathway completion systems
Support implementation of the districts Graduate Profile to align student outcomes with postsecondary readiness
Support high school counselors in the implementation of programs for Individual Graduation Committees (IGCs) RISE Program and Texas Success Initiative (TSI) assessments
Provide leadership and guidance to school counselors to ensure consistent high-quality academic advising and postsecondary planning
Student Outcomes and Support Systems
Develop and monitor systems for dropout prevention intervention and recovery
Collaborate with counselors administrators and teachers to ensure students are on track for graduation and postsecondary readiness
Support campus counselors in the identification of at-risk students and use data to identify gaps and implement targeted interventions
Coordinate and support academic counseling services including four-year plans graduation pathways and credit tracking
Data Monitoring and Accountability
Analyze student data related to CCMR indicators graduation rates and pathway completion
Monitor progress toward campus and district goals and provide regular reports to both campus and district administration
Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive CCMR program aligned with state accountability standards (including CCMR indicators such as SAT/ACT performance dual credit industry certifications and military enlistment readiness)
Collaborate with district/campus leadership and counselors to coordinate PEIMS components of the master schedules ensuring date accuracy appropriate course sequencing and alignment with students graduation plans and CCMR pathways
Postsecondary Pathways Development
Expand and support college career and military readiness opportunities (Dual Credit Advanced Placement Industry-based Certifications Military Pathways etc.)
Assist in the building of partnerships with higher education institutions workforce organizations and community stakeholders
Promote awareness of postsecondary opportunities among students and families in conjunction with high school counselors
Collaborate and Communication
Work closely with campus and district leadership counselors and CTE staff to align efforts
Provide training and support to staff on CCMR indicators and best practices
Provide training and support to high school counselors in the area of academic counseling
Communicate program goals expectations and progress with stakeholders
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None (may coordinate and lead cross-functional teams across all district high schools)
Working Conditions:
Travel to all district campus buildings and professional meetings
Occasional evening or weekend events (parent nights college/career events etc.)
Equipment Used:
Standard office and classroom equipment including computer and peripherals
Mental Demands:
Maintains emotional control under stress
Physical Demands:
Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
Frequent repetitive hand motions including keyboarding and use of mouse
Regular light lifting
Environment:
Works in an office setting and may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policy and based on progress toward student outcome goals including CCMR indicators graduations rates and pathway completion.
