Our vision is to partner with best-in-class local operators to invest in agriculture and timber assets in investment-friendly jurisdictions around the world. A high component of land water or agricultural assets typically ground our investments and add to downside protection. We also seek to invest in opportunities positioned to benefit from global trends that propel demand growth.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
As an Intern Natural Resources LATAM youll:
Support members of the investment team in the analysis of potential private equity transactions in the Natural Resources group portfolio in Latin America
Perform preliminary analysis of investment opportunities identify key investment merits and risks meet with management teams review documentation and financial reports and prepare summary reports
Build detailed financial models including performing extensive sensitivity analyses review of financial projections and valuation assumptions
Participate and support the Natural Resources group in the active management of the groups current portfolio of investments working alongside management teams of portfolio companies on specific projects to create value
Participate and support investment team members in the due diligence process
Support the Natural Resources group in industry research related to new investments opportunities
Participate in the preparation of investment recommendation memorandums for investment approval
Participate in presentations to various committees as required
WHAT YOULL NEED
Currently enrolled in the third (3rd) or fourth (4th) year of a university degree or in a Masters program with strong academic standing; specialization in Business Finance Accounting Economics or Engineering
Strong financial skills including experience in building financial models and familiarity with financial statements
English and Spanish or Portuguese required
Professional designations or in-progress designations: CFA an asset
Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum
Good communications skills in English and French (or willingness to learn) Regular interactions in English with investment partners based outside of Quebec Example: peers bankers brokerage firms etc. and PSP employees in our offices in Hong Kong London and New York and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa.
