The Data Technology and Innovation (DTI) division enables the FCA to be a digital-first data-led smart regulator by delivering a secure agile and cost-effective technology and data ecosystem that drives better decisions transparency and operational efficiency.
Sitting within DTI the Advanced Analytics & Data Science Unit team develops the FCAs organisation-wide capability to drive an analytics-led regulatory approach.
Role responsibilities
Identify and shape highvalue opportunities for applying AI across the organisation enabling smarter more effective regulatory outcomes
Facilitate structured discovery workshops with stakeholders to surface pain points map processes and pinpoint where AI can deliver meaningful improvements
Translate business challenges into clear functional and nonfunctional requirements working collaboratively with technical teams to design AIenabled solutions
Manage and prioritise a pipeline of AI initiatives partnering with data scientists and leadership to focus effort on the highestimpact projects
Contribute to the organisations wider AI adoption strategy through insight stakeholder engagement and evidencebased recommendations
Advocate best practice in business analysis promoting consistency quality and knowledge sharing across the department
Gain experience delivering experimental and innovative projects that address realworld challenges such as financial crime and consumer protection
Build a distinctive skill set at the intersection of AI data technology and regulation within a collaborative learningfocused environment
Skills required
Minimum:
Experience in a senior business analyst role or a comparable position such as Consultant Solution/Service Designer or Product Owner
Experience delivering projects across the full lifecycle using both waterfall and agile methodologies
Essential:
Solid understanding of core Business Analysis techniques including user journey mapping process mapping requirements gathering and the ability to design and facilitate collaborative workshops
Interest or familiarity with artificial intelligence particularly in areas such as large language models agentic AI or prompt engineering
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders
Ability to work through complex problems identifying underlying issues and opportunities for improvement
A pragmatic approach that can adjust to changing priorities with the ability to manage multiple tasks and make balanced decisions informed by evidence stakeholder perspectives and organisational context
