In the Know is a mental health literacy program designed specifically for farmers their families and those who are involved and/or support the agriculture sector. Through this free four-hour workshop participants will cover the topics of stress depression anxiety substance use suicide and how to start a conversation around mental well-being.
Growth Workshops are short focused sessions that bring accessible mental health education to the agricultural community.
Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our team as an Interim Program Outreach Coordinator within our Agriculture Wellness Ontario program. This position works with the agricultural community to promote and deliver mental health programming and resources with a special focus on the In the Know and Growth Workshop programs. A key piece of this work involves face to face meetings and participation in agricultural events across the province.
The ideal candidate is an outgoing communicator with strong presentation skills knowledge of Ontarios rural/agricultural community and general knowledge of mental health promotion. Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset. Regular travel across Ontario is required.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the In the Know/Growth Workshop outreach strategy in collaboration with Program and Engagement Managers.
- Support the coordination of outreach planning scheduling and budgets.
- Respond to and support coordination of outreach and presentation requests.
- Deliver outreach presentations at agricultural events regional forums conferences workshops and symposia.
- Table at relevant trade shows events and conferences to promote and grow brand recognition of the programs.
- Provide facilitation and moderation support to Agricultural Mental Health programs (including In the Know Growth Workshop and the Guardian Network).
- Develop and maintain strong community relationships via in-person visits and virtual check-ins and through a variety of communications channels such as ongoing email communications educational webinars and attendance at medical health and agriculture events.
- Work closely with CMHA branch staff across Ontario to promote In the Know and Growth Workshops within their catchment. Make contacts in each branch region be able to make links and support branch staff at agricultural events fairs or community events.
- Engage with key program stakeholders to support program promotion and delivery.
- Coordinate and provide regular program updates to the appropriate Program Manager.
- Contribute to annual plans and reports and submit regular activity updates to the appropriate management.
- Participate in internal meetings including training opportunities within Provincial Programs Department.

Hiring Rate: This position pays between $73520.97 and $75726.60 per annum based on a 35- hour work week.
The salary grid for this role ranges between $73520.97 at Step 1 and $82748.49 at Step 5. The initial salary offered for this position is anticipated to fall between Step 1 and Step 2 of the salary grid as posted above as the hiring rate.
The successful candidate will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes pension through HOOPP life health and dental insurance exclusive paid time-off and opportunities for professional development.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time temporary fixed term contract (anticipated for 12-13 months) bargaining position covering for a leave of absence working standard office hours (currently 35 hours/week). This position is based in Toronto Ontario but will allow for remote work for qualified candidates outside the Greater Toronto Area Ontario. This position requires regular travel possibly requiring overnight stays.
This position is also a desk job with extended periods of sitting reading telephone interaction and working at the computer. This position involves some moderate lifting shipping and handling. Attendance at various meetings throughout the workday/workweek will be required; meetings may occur on short notice depending on the circumstances.
This position is within the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.
