Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: North Bergen NJ
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks Extension Possible)
Shift: 9:00 AM 5:30 PM
Compensation:
- $2800 $3500/week (Based on experience)
Position Overview:
A well-established healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in a hospital setting and be proficient in handling radiopharmaceuticals imaging systems and patient care protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety guidelines
- Perform radionuclide imaging procedures including organ imaging and function studies
- Operate Nuclear Medicine equipment and ensure optimal image quality
- Evaluate images using PACS to confirm proper identification and diagnostic value
- Provide radiation safety for patients staff and self in compliance with regulations
- Prepare radioactive tracer compounds and calibrate equipment
- Receive inspect and manage radiopharmaceuticals per state and NRC guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of radioactive material usage storage and disposal
- Ensure cleanliness and contamination-free conditions of equipment and work areas
- Rotate through various assignments such as Cardiology and PET/CT
- Perform clerical duties including documentation in EPIC scheduling and patient tracking systems
- Participate in on-call rotations weekends holidays and overtime as required
- Deliver patient-centered care while addressing age cultural and communication needs
- Follow all regulatory standards including NRC state and hospital guidelines
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment
- Strong knowledge of radiopharmaceutical handling and radiation safety
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
Certifications & Licensure:
- Valid NJDEP License (Required)
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB Certification (Required)
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
