Staff Performance Engineer

Job Summary
Collaborate with software engineers product owners and business leaders to identify performance requirements and goals for software systems. Develop performance testing plans and execute tests to identify performance issues and measure system performance under different conditions. Analyze existing software systems to identify performance bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Craft and communicate code and database bottleneck repair recommendations and analyze the effectiveness with which those recommendations have been implemented. Work with software engineering teams to incorporate performance testing and optimization into the software development lifecycle and architectural design discussions. Monitor Production systems to identify and diagnose performance issues and implement corrective actions. Evaluate third-party performance tools and services and make recommendations for their use. May telecommute from any home office throughout the U.S.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related field and 8 years of experience as a performance engineer or test engineer.
3 years of experience in:
Reviewing application architecture and developing performance test strategy for applications developed using and Python. Designed and implemented scalability stability stress reliability availability and longevity tests using industry standard tools and custom developed test tools. Creating test harnesses using HP LoadRunner VuGen in C and Java to test application performance. Conducting load performance and feasibility testing of software systems subsystems networking systems and storage technologies. Designed and created scripts utilizing Web Services Java Protocol HTTP or HTML in HP LoadRunner/Performance Center. Performed coding testing debugging and implementation of complex software applications. Performing application design and programming in Java Python and SQL.

As a part of the total compensation package this role may be eligible for the Companys Bonus plan or a role-specific commission along with potential eligibility for equity participation. The Company maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge skills experience market conditions and locations as well as reflect the Companys differing products industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary for US-based employees will be in this range from (min-mid-max USD):
Annual Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00
Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employees home location.
