Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies as may be required regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

Purpose:
The Process Engineer Service is pivotal in ensuring the successful launch and ongoing support of innovative capital equipment products within the Process Engineering Service department. This role is responsible for understanding and translating product servicing needs into effective processes procedures and design requirements. The individual will work closely with various stakeholders including R&D Manufacturing and Suppliers to deliver serviceable and cost-efficient products. Additionally the role involves guiding product expansions internationally.
You will be responsible for:
In accordance with all applicable federal state and local laws/regulations as well as Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines this position:
- Collaborates with R&D Manufacturing Quality and Suppliers during product development to facilitate the delivery of serviceable products and efficient service operations.
- Assist in creating essential documentation including servicing instructions troubleshooting guides training materials and process validation protocols/reports.
- Support the coordination of service operations transfer to field service organizations by contributing to documentation and training materials.
- Engage in driving quality and serviceability enhancements using Process Excellence tools to address operational issues and improve service offerings.
- Monitors post-launch service performance analyzing results to identify root causes of issues and implementing necessary product or service improvements.
- Assist in supporting hardware and software design changes throughout the product lifecycle to ensure continued serviceability.
- Communicates relevant business-related issues and opportunities to the next management level to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Supporting installation corrective and preventative maintenance in the field including healthcare facility visits and staying up to date with the required credentialing requirements
- Ensures compliance with all Company guidelines related to Health Safety and Environmental practices promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
- Responsible for adhering to all Federal State local and Company regulations policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned contributing to the overall success of the department and organization.
Qualifications:
Required Experience & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required with a preference for degrees in mechanical electrical or biomedical engineering.
- Relevant experience in manufacturing mechanical or service engineering is required medical device industry preferred.
- Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Basic analytical skills to identify issues and implement solutions that enhance quality and service operations.
- The position is based in Palm Beach Gardens FL
- This position follows the J&J Flex policy which requires at least 3 days on-site with the option to work up to 2 days remote per week.
- This position may travel up to 10% travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Basic understanding of Design for Serviceability principles.
- Experience in developing and writing clear technical documentation including formal procedures and engineering reports.
- Service Engineering Principles: Understanding of service engineering principles to support efforts in improving product serviceability.
- Tooling and fixturing design including 3D printing.
- Solidworks or related CAD experience.
