POSITION PURPOSE
The Pharmacy Manager Operations is a licensed registered pharmacist accountable for managing and advancing people processes and / or programs that support direct or indirect patient care. This opportunity functions as the manager for the pharmacy technician team overseeing daily operations staffing scheduling and payroll. Handles hiring performance coaching evaluations and corrective actions.
Responsible for providing leadership oversight alignment and standardization for assigned Pharmacy operational area/business line. Implements strategic and operational initiatives including new services/programs revenue enhancement expense reduction managed care utilization systems and strategies. Responsible for ensuring performance excellence in terms of quality safety service affordability and technology. Oversees drug utilization management efforts; manages the pharmaceutical supply chain; and is responsible for the financial operations.
Full-Time position scheduled 40 hours per week on-site at Trinity Health Oakland in Pontiac MI.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy is required. Advanced or Masters degree preferred (e.g. PharmD MBA)
Licensure / Certification: Registered pharmacist possessing a valid Michigan Pharmacist and Controlled Substance License.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience as a pharmacist. Minimum three (3) years of pharmacy management experience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Technician Colleague Oversight: Direct oversight of pharmacy technicians including hiring discipline attendance management performance (StandOut) and terminations as needed.
Technician Scheduling: Review of technician schedules in collaboration with the Technician Coordinator.
Financial Review & Productivity: Ongoing review of productivity metrics and operational performance to ensure appropriate staffing models and resource utilization.
Diversion Oversight: Operational oversight of controlled substance diversion monitoring including implementation and sustainment of new diversion software in partnership with the Regional Medication Oversight Team.
USP 797 Oversight: Oversight of USP 797 compliance in collaboration with the Technician Coordinator.
Sterile Compounding & Joint Commission Readiness: Preparation for and ongoing compliance with Joint Commission standards related to sterile compounding practices.
Controlled Substance & DEA Compliance: Oversight of controlled substance handling practices and adherence to DEA requirements.
Pyxis Optimization & Inventory Management: Optimization of Pyxis inventory management processes including future consideration of a designated logistics technician to support inventory realignment.
Emergency Management Preparedness: Oversight of pharmacy emergency preparedness including R2South Chempack HEMS support and major system downtime planning.
Operational Policy Oversight: Review maintenance and enforcement of pharmacy operational policies.
Joint Commission Operational Preparedness: Pharmacy operational readiness for Joint Commission surveys including internal pharmacy locations and support of other ancillary departments through mock surveys and readiness activities.
Purchasing & Formulary Compliance: Oversight of purchasing activity formulary adherence and 340B optimization and compliance.
