Job Summary
The Johns Hopkins Hospital Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)displays responsible behaviors communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The CMA functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician when performing clinical tasks during patient care. The CMA reports to the clinic manager who is responsible for administrative supervision staff development and orientation of the CMA to the areas policies and procedures. The CMA maintains an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies assists in the organization of efficient patient flow and organizes the clinic environment to assure patient CMA participates in medication and procedure education for patients and their families by providing brochures and literature and may administer meds as ordered by provider. The CMA records care provided in patient medical record.
Shift:
Full Time (40 hours)
Day Shift 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (May vary slightly depending on location)
No weekends!
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of anaccredited Medical Assistant training programrequired or relevant years of experience as a medical assisatant leading to certification.
Licensure/Certification:
- Completion of CMA certification with the credentials ofRMA NCMA NRCMA CCMA or CMAArequiredprior to hire
- ValidBLS CPRcertification required upon hire; JHH accepts AHA Red Cross and military training network
Work Experience:
- Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of CMA experience.
- Prior experience in Cardiology preferred.
- MA program externship preferred.

Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
