Senior Data Engineer (Azure Data Platform) Part-Time Contract
Ghent Belgium (On-site)
Duration: 4 months (11 May 2026 1 September 2026)
Workload: 1 day per week

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design build and operate a secure scalable and cost-efficient cloud data platform within an enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement Azure-based cloud data platform infrastructure (compute storage networking)
• Set up and maintain DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines environments (dev/test/prod) monitoring and alerting
• Implement security and access controls in line with ICT policies
• Automate platform operations to reduce manual effort and operational risk
• Ensure the platform is production-ready stable and resilient
• Enforce security access control and compliance (IAM networking secrets management GDPR-by-design)
• Monitor performance reliability and cost of the data platform
• Support DevOps DataOps and MLOps practices across analytics and AI workloads

Required Experience

• Several years of experience with cloud data platforms preferably Microsoft Azure
• Experience operating and maintaining production-grade data platforms
• Strong background in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
• Experience working within enterprise ICT standards and compliance frameworks (GDPR IAM security policies)

Key Skills

• Strong expertise in Azure (networking storage compute security)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Bicep ARM)
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps GitHub Actions)
• Strong knowledge of Databricks SQL Server MySQL Python and SQL
• Experience with monitoring logging alerting and cost management
• Understanding of IAM secrets management private endpoints and network segmentation
• Familiarity with data lineage and documentation practices
