Beacon Communications is a leader in critical communication systems installation and services the healthcare education and commercial markets with office locations in CO CA and MN. The Payroll & HR Coordinator will work near our CA locations and provide payroll and HR support companywide. The annual salary range for this role is between $68000 - $75000 annually commensurate on relevant education related experience and other factors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support payroll for both W-2 and Union employeesespecially on public works projects requiring certified payroll reporting
Manage and submit Certified Payroll reports accurately and on time
Ensure compliance with prevailing wage and public works requirements
Prepare reports through LCP Tracker and other reporting systems
Support regulatory reporting including payroll audits and tax documentation
Maintain organized payroll records for compliance and retention
Assist with union payroll reporting and OCIP reporting
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies with accuracy and urgency
Overseeing recruitment selection and the onboarding process
Ensuring that the companys procedures comply with employment regulations
Maintain I-9 records and other state and federal reporting requirements
Benefits administration including open enrollment benefit billing reconciliations answering employee questions
Monitor and process promotions transfers and terminations
Reporting on HR related data
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data using multiple systems
FMLA/ADA/multi-state leave compliance
Manage employee relations
May assist in disciplinary actions performance management
Works closely with the HR Generalist and other team members
On-site HR presence for employee questions
Other special projects and duties as assigned

Proven working experience as an HR Coordinator or Payroll Administrator

In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices union experience a plus
Experience with Union Payroll preferred
Strong knowledge of payroll compliance wage laws and reporting requirements
Good computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint)
Problem solving skills and resourceful thinking
Ability to hold information confidential
Education License and Experience:
Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years directly related experience in human resources and/or payroll
2 years of Certified Payroll experience
Physical Requirements:
Requires prolonged sitting standing some bending stooping and stretching. Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds.
Must maintain a clear background check in order to satisfy customer jobsite badging requirements.
Must be willing to submit to all vaccinations and screening tests required for customer jobsite badging protocol.
Consistent reliable and timely attendance
Maintain a clear drug and alcohol screening protocol.
