Title: Director of Tax Private Client Advisors (Trust Estate Gift tax)
Location: Multiple CA locations (Irvine Woodland Hills Downtown Los Angeles San Ramon San Jose San Francisco Century City El Segundo)
Salary: $195K$265K base (DOE & location)
Overview
A growing public accounting firm is seeking a Tax Director to lead high-net-worth individual and fiduciary tax engagements. This role focuses on complex tax planning and compliance across estate gift and trust matters along with team leadership and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Review complex tax returns for high-net-worth individuals including closely held entities trusts estates and gift tax filings
- Advise clients on tax implications of personal and business transactions
- Lead large multi-client engagements ensuring quality timelines and profitability
- Conduct and oversee research on complex tax issues; prepare technical memoranda
- Mentor and develop managers and supervisors; oversee engagement workflow budgets and staffing
- Collaborate across service lines to identify and drive cross-selling opportunities
- Participate in business development efforts and client relationship expansion
- Contribute to thought leadership through publications training and speaking engagements
- Stay current on tax law changes and provide guidance and training internally
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Tax Finance or related field
- Active CPA EA or JD
- 8 years of public accounting tax experience
- 4 years in a leadership/managerial role
- Strong expertise in high-net-worth individual trust estate and gift taxation
- Deep knowledge of federal state and local tax regulations
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex client engagements

- Masters in Taxation or Accounting
