Job Summary
DIRECT HIRE:The Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing repairing and maintaining heavy construction machinery and vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operations on job sites. This role requires mechanical expertise problem-solving skills and adherence to safety standards.
Working Location: Jacksonville FL.
Pay Range: $73K - $83K (depending on experience)
Base hours/Schedule: M - F 8am - 5pm OT

Responsibilities:
- Inspect diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment including excavators bulldozers loaders cranes dump trucks and backhoes
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on all equipment according to manufacturer specifications
- Troubleshoot mechanical hydraulic and electrical systems
- Fabricate and replace parts as needed
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs service records and parts inventory
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed safely and comply with company and regulatory standards
- Assist operators with equipment operation guidance and best practices
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to minimize equipment downtime
- Provide input on equipment condition replacement needs and cost-saving opportunities
- Keep shop tools and service truck clean organized and properly maintained
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA/DOT regulations during maintenance and repair work
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certifications in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working on heavy construction or industrial equipment
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines hydraulics transmissions electrical systems and brakes
- Ability to read schematics manuals and blueprints
- Proficient hand tools power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Valid drivers license required-CDL preferred
- Welding & fabrication skills a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
