The Senior Manager Aquatics provides leadership and strategic oversight for all YMCA aquatic operations across the association. This role ensures consistency in standards policies and best practices while advancing safety operational efficiency and community access. Working closely with Aquatic Managers and senior leaders this position supports growth innovation and alignment with YMCA values and national standards.

- Aquatics Leadership & Strategy: Provide association-wide strategic leadership to ensure high-quality consistent and mission-aligned aquatic programs and services.
- Operations & Systems Oversight: Oversee aquatic operations systems and processes to drive efficiency consistency and excellent service delivery across all sites.
- People Leadership & Development: Lead and develop high-performing aquatics leadership teams through recruitment coaching succession planning and professional training.
- Safety Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure safe compliant aquatic environments by championing safety culture and managing regulatory and risk requirements.
- Partnerships & Community Engagement: Build and manage key partnerships and agreements to strengthen community access collaboration and impact of aquatic services.

- Minimum 3 years experience in aquatic facility management
- Minimum 5 years management or supervisory experience
- Post-secondary education in Recreation Leisure Studies or a related field (an asset)
- National Lifeguard Pool and Waterpark certifications
- National Lifeguard Instructor certification (an asset)
- First Aid Instructor certification with Airway Management and Oxygen Administration
- YMCA Canada Swim Trainer or Training Educator certification (an asset)
- Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
Compensation:
- $35.68 - $38.22/hr plus the YMCA of Southern Interior BC offers a competitive compensation and benefits program including:
- 3 weeks paid vacation
- Paid wellness days
- Family responsibility days for family members
- Membership for self and family to Y facilities
- Extended health and dental
- Annual Y pension of 5% (after 2 years)
