Privacy and AI Compliance Lawyer Associate General Counsel

Key Responsibilities
Advise product technology and business teams on privacy AI and cybersecurity compliance including privacy-by-design principles.
Support NasdaqVerafinsstrategic growth in the United Kingdom and European Unionincluding leading Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) maintaining GDPR compliance programandevaluating the application of the EU AI Act to services
Identifyand interpret new compliance requirements arising from global laws and regulations.
Serve as an escalation point for privacy and AI-related contract negotiationsand engagement point for client Data Protection Officers and privacy attorneys.
Support public policy initiatives and draft responses to regulatory proposalsimpactingNasdaqVerafin.
Participatein incident response and deliver privacy-related training across the organization.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor (or equivalent) degree. And be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador or Ontario or eligible for membership.
58 years of experience in privacy AI or emerging technology law.
Strong ability to collaborate across business technology and risk teams to deliver practical solutions.
Clear communicator with experience in fast-paced matrixed environments.
Knowledge of global privacy laws including GDPR PIPEDA and US privacy laws.
Preferred Qualifications
IAPP or similar professional certification
Experience in fintech banking or regulated industries.
Exposure to global teams and cross-border compliance challenges.

The base pay range for this role is $121000 - $170000. In addition to base salary Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive) and equity (long-term incentive) comprehensive benefits and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to: skill set experience education/training business needs and market demands.Required Experience:
