Job Description:
The Freight Forwarding General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership strategic direction and performance of inbound and outbound freight forwarding operations across gateway locations service centers and regional hub facilities. This role has full accountability for operational excellence financial performance regulatory compliance customer satisfaction and team development while driving sustainable business growth and profitability.

Workdays:This position is expected to work at least five (5) consecutive days per week.
Shift Hours:This position requires Full-Time availability during operational days.

Salary Range: $8.146 - $9.164 monthly
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Operational Leadership & Execution
Direct and oversee all inbound and outbound freight forwarding activities including consolidation of inbound freight from outlying facilities and coordination of pickup and delivery operations.
Ensure timely and efficient preparation of outbound shipments for movement to regional truck hubs air gateways and UPSCO facilities.
Establish standardized operating procedures to maximize throughput accuracy and service reliability across multiple operational sites.
Monitor daily operational metrics identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions to maintain service commitments.
Planning Forecasting & Capacity Management
Forecast labor requirements shipment volumes tonnage and revenue to support peak operational periods and long-term business planning.
Align staffing plans with operational demand to ensure cost-effective labor utilization while maintaining service quality.
Collaborate with Industrial Engineering teams to evaluate workflows resource utilization and capacity planning initiatives.
Financial Management & Profitability
Own the freight forwarding operations profit and loss (P&L) ensuring adherence to budgetary targets and financial objectives.
Analyze operating costs identify cost-reduction opportunities and execute initiatives that improve margins without compromising service.
Develop and execute strategic plans to increase revenue improve cost efficiency and enhance overall business performance.
Sales Business Development & Customer Retention
Partner closely with UPS Sales teams to support business development initiatives strengthen customer relationships and grow freight forwarding volume.
Target key accounts to retain existing customers and secure new business opportunities.
Act as an escalation point for major customer issues ensuring timely resolution and long-term customer satisfaction.
Compliance Risk & Governance
Ensure full compliance with UPS policies procedures and internal controls.
Maintain adherence to all applicable local national and international transportation regulations customs requirements and safety standards.
Proactively identify operational and regulatory risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect the organization.
People Leadership & Talent Development
Lead coach and develop department managers and supervisors fostering a culture of accountability performance and continuous improvement.
Conduct performance reviews succession planning and leadership development initiatives to build a strong management bench.
Promote a safe inclusive and high-performing work environment aligned with organizational values.
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Initiatives
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency service quality and customer experience.
Leverage data analytics and performance reporting to support informed decision-making.
Participate in cross-functional initiatives and strategic projects to support broader organizational goals.
Requirements
5 years of experience withfreight forwarding transportation logistics or supply chain operationsRequired
Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office.
Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience managing P&L responsibility Preferred
Excellent analytical organizational and problem-solving skills Preferred
Ability to lead multi-site operations and manage complex stakeholder relationships Preferred
Strong communication negotiation and customer-facing skills.
Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and international freight operations Preferred
Bachelors degree or International equivalent Preferred
