Job Summary
Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP one of the worlds leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce law and government across North America Asia Europe and the Middle East is seeking to hireanHR Assistant.Reporting to theSenior Manager HRBP the HR Assistantprovidesa wide range of clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited tomaintainingpersonnel recordspreparing HR documents for employeesanswering routineinquiriesand performing other duties as assigned. Works under close supervision and supports the activities of theHRBPs for the attorney population.
This positioncanresideoutofthe Philadelphia BostonorChicagoofficesand offers a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.
Local HR Responsibilitiesinclude:
Onboarding and Departures
Assistswith arranging new hirecheckin meetings and45-daycheck ins.
Handles sending departure documents when employeesdepartfrom the firm.
When local office support is neededmaintaininventory of all new hire gifts for assigned offices.
Coordinateswith Local HR to confirmthe collection of firm property securitybadgeand keys upon departure for assigned offices.
Employee Relations
Liaises with HRBPs/Management and employees to provide support as requested.
Assistswith the annualand mid-yearattorney and legal staffevaluation processes.
Supports the firms management principles policies and programs and ensures they are fairly applied.
Assistswith memo and document preparation for personnel actionsatthe directionofSr. Manager HRBP.
Local Strategies and Support
Assistswith or coordinates/supports local Administrative/HR events as needed including Benefits Fair Flu Shot Program Benefits Open Enrollment Diversity & Inclusion Presentations Take Our Children to Work Day Staff Appreciation Step Challenge and Community Impact Week.
Compliance
Maintainsaccurateand up to date human resource files records and documentation with confidentiality and integrity.
Assistswith employment verification process upon escalation.
When support is neededcompleteslocal I-9 processes for new hires and departures and supports the PG/Department HRBP with immigration issues accordingly.
HRIS
Ensure HRIS transactions are processedtimelyand accurately.
Runsreports for HRBPs as requested.
Assistsemployees with evaluation systems training and issues as requested.
Special Projects
Contributes to Firm and HRprojectsassigned.
Liaises with HRBPs and Centers of Excellence including Talent Acquisition Total Rewards Compliance HRIS and Compensation to provide local support as needed in areas such as performance evaluations transaction requests employee relations recruiting etc.
Responsible for onlinepurchasing ofoffice gifts for leaves arrival of newborns bereavementwhen practice groups request.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in HR orrelatedfield preferred.
Minimum of two years ofdirectly relatedHuman Resources experience preferably inthe professionalservices industry.An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Excellent organizational skills; effective written and oral communication skills.
Proficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite Workday.
High energy; self-motivated; results oriented.
Confident manner; ability toestablishcredibility quickly.
Ability to work comfortably in a matrix organization.
Ability to deal positively with adversity anddifficult situations.
Teamplayerwho canestablishtrust with all levels of personnel.

For positions in Boston MA the salary range for this job posting is: $53200.00 - $85150.00
For positions in Chicago IL the salary range for this job posting is: $50900.00 - $81425.00
The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors including but not limited to prior experience relevant expertise current business needs and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
