The Medical Professions (MP) program at Portland Community College (PCC) is seeking in-person part-time instructors. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise of the healthcare industry to support a diverse body of students. Medical Professions hosts courses at Cascade Sylvania Willow Creek Hillsboro Center and Southeast Campuses. This position may involve travel between sites.

Instructor Qualifications

Medical Professions (MP) Instructor Qualifications

MP 108: Healthcare Career Essentials

  • Bachelors degree in a medical allied health or applied behavioral science

  • Knowledge of career opportunities and requirements in the health field

  • Three (3) years experience in a healthcare facility or organization

MP 111: Medical Terminology

  • Bachelors degree in a medical or allied health discipline

  • Three (3) years experience in a healthcare facility or organization

MP113: Healthcare Provider CPR/AED First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens

  • Degree or certificate from a nationally accredited or state-approved program in the field of EMT Paramedic Nursing or other healthcare discipline

  • Required American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Instructor certification

  • Completion of AHA Bloodborne Pathogens Training

  • Completion of AHA First Aid Training

  • Completion of AHA BLS Provider Training

  • Three (3) years experience in a healthcare facility or organization

MP 135: Pharmacology for Allied Health

  • Masters Degree in Pharmaceutical Science Pharmacology or other healthcare discipline

  • Three (3) years experience in a healthcare facility or organization

MP 140: Intro to Health Law and Ethics

  • Bachelors Degree in a medical or allied health field or a law degree (Juris Doctor)

  • Three (3) years experience in a healthcare facility or organization
