Senior Payroll Specialist

Job Summary
The Senior Payroll Specialist position will ensure accurate processing and recording of the companys payroll for all non-bargaining addition this position will act as a customer service agent to internal employees both on management and non-management positions to assist with payroll inquiries and document requests.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
- Execute time and attendance processing and interface with KeyStyle software.
- Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks.
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
- Process manual check and/or request for stop payment.
- Prepares weekly monthly quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll hours worked vacation accrual tax deductions benefit deductions etc.) for management.
- Performs various journal entries account reconciliations and provides general ledger support.
- Research and respond to appropriate persons regarding items in need of correcting.
- Provide documentation as needed for the annual financial and 401k audits.
- Payroll setup changes such as pre-tax or post-tax deduction.
- Continuously improve efficiency of semi-monthly salary payroll process.
- Clear and thorough understanding of how direct deposit works along with payroll tax payments.
- GL reconciliations for all payroll accrual accounts.
- Performs other payroll related duties as assigned.
Requirements
5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience including semimonthly salaried payrolls reconciliations manual checks garnishments tax reporting and yearend processing for nonbargaining employees.
Advanced proficiency with payroll and timekeeping systems (e.g. KeyStyle or similar) HRIS integrations direct deposit administration and payroll tax payment systems.
Strong working knowledge of payroll taxation employerpaid benefits pre and posttax deductions unclaimed property compliance GL reconciliations journal entries and audit support (financial and 401k).
Excellent attention to detail ability to develop ad hoc financial reports troubleshoot discrepancies manage confidential data and provide responsive professional payroll support to employees and management.
