Operations and Transport Manager Full time ErithWe seek a highly motivated and experienced Operations & Transport Manager to join our dynamic team in Erith. The successful candidate will build professional relationships with our transport suppliers to ensure we are getting the best service most cost-effectively. Reporting to the Depot Manager you will lead develop and support the Operations Customer Service and Warehouse teams in overseeing the transport departments daily operations ensuring its ROLE:The role willinclude;Responsibility for actively managing the day-to-day running and operational procedures/performance of this depot with a hands on approach Leading and motivating a team in the pursuit of demanding cost and service and managing transport operations to ensure timely delivery of goods and ensure the business needs are implementing and monitoring transport policies and compliance with transport regulations and safety standards maintaining accurate records of transport activities and prepare reportsSupporting new initiatives and take an active part in projectsEvident line management experience in pallet services environment and people managementExperience of running a multi shift logistics operation from operations to warehouse to customer record of delivering great service to Customers and managing on-going Customer of managing a diverse workforce including sub- contractors self- employed drivers and PAYE staff.45 hours per week including a fortnightly Saturday AM SALARY:Up to 45k per annum depending on SkillsCPC in road transport management. Proven experience as an Operations and Transport Manager or in a similar role. Experience in people management and developing teams. Strong knowledge of transport regulations logistics and working with carrier insurance requirements Excellent organisational and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
